If we look back to the beginning of satellite TV, beginning way back in the early 1960s, the trend has gained large usability among different users. The up-link satellite dishes are usually large in diameter thus ensuring that there is no error in receiving and correctly interpreting the signal received by the station. Thereafter, a signal is then sent back to your television set.
As a result of technology and very smart scientist and engineers, the picture quality and the quality of the satellite signal has gotten better over the years. In the beginning, the signal and picture quality were poor, largely a result of poor reception and the atmosphere. As the technology got better, there came such equipments as parabolic receiving dishes which put an end to poor signal quality. In the beginning, the picture and the sound were not linked correctly and it was noticeable to viewers. However, engineers corrected this problem by using a piece of equipment that correctly solved the sound problems and improved the sound quality.
Another huge factor that is often overlooked and is equally important is the cost of the equipment; along with the cost to install a satellite system have dramatically decreased over the years. This is mainly due to a host of cheaper solutions that have been employed as far as technology is concerned.
Further improvement has been seen of late due to the emergence of digital quality technology. Satellite TVs have gone digital too. This is an improvement to the previous standards like PAL and NTSC. With all these changes in technology it’s no wonder that subscriptions are higher than ever and will continue to grow. Soon watching satellite TV on your computer and connecting the signal to your HDTV will be the next big trend.
